Independent Living Training

HCIL teaches independent living skills training to help our clients accomplish daily tasks. We also identify and locate assistive equipment, assess benefits eligibility and locate affordable housing.

Community Training

HCIL provides training sessions on disability issues and overall awareness for our communities.

ADA Employment Training
Basic requirements and compliance of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Includes tips for increasing awareness of interactions with people with disabilities and options for providing reasonable accomodations.

ADA Public Accommodation Training
Basic requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and compliance for public accommodations.

Service Delivery Training
Overview of specific policy issues of The Disability Discrimination Act as the foundation for service delivery for people with disabilities.

Customer Sevice Training
Targeted for businesses. Teaches methods of providing equal services to people with disabilities. Includes disability awareness and interaction skills.

Disability Awareness Training
Education for the general community on disability awareness and interaction.

Personal Assistance Employer Training
HCIL offers training for people with disabilities who want to hire their own attendants. The person must be in the Medicaid Waiver program to be eligible. The person inquires with their assigned case managers, who in turn refers them to HCIL for employer training.

Outreach Programs

Making services accessible to our clients is the primary purpose of HCIL. All of our services can be brought to a client's home or to the neighborhood community. Programs in the Waianae Coast and North Shore communities have achieved greater access for disabled people of minority cultures.
